Speed Tested

Speed You Can Count On

Serious gamers don’t have time to second guess what’s on the screen. One hitch or jitter and —zap! — you’re toast.

But if every monitor claims to have the fastest refresh rate in the universe, how can you be sure what’s really inside?

Now there’s a way to make sure your display is the fastest draw in the galaxy. Look for the AdaptiveSync logo. Developed to ensure the speediest refresh rate on laptops and PCs, VESA Certified AdaptiveSync Display is the first certified, open source industry standard for display visual performance on variable refresh rate displays. See AdaptiveSync at CES 2023 (YouTube) and Blog.

VESA Certified AdaptiveSync Display 144 logo

AdaptiveSync Display guarantees higher refresh rates and low latency, optimized for gaming, plus a lab-certified max refresh rate so you know your display’s full potential.

VESA Certified MediaSync Display logo

MediaSync Display is designed for jitter-free media playback supporting all international broadcast video formats.

AdaptiveSync Dual Mode Introduced with version 1.1a recognizes displays that are optimized for high resolution cinematic games and content creation, as well as for high refresh rate for rapid motion games.

Verify Before You Buy

AdaptiveSync and MediaSync logos guarantee that your machine has passed the VESA Adaptive-Sync Display Compliance Test Specification (Adaptive-Sync Display CTS), the first publicly open standard for front-of-screen performance of variable refresh rate displays.

Tested Performance You Can Trust

Developed to ensure the speediest refresh rate on laptops and PCs, VESA AdaptiveSync Display Certification is the first open source industry standard for display visual performance on variable refresh rate displays. The AdaptiveSync Display and MediaSync Display logos guarantee that your monitor has passed the VESA AdaptiveSync Display Compliance Test Spec, and guarantee front-of-screen visual performance of variable refresh rate operation through authorized lab testing.

An Open Source Industry Standard

A component of the VESA DisplayPort video interface standard, VESA’s Adaptive-Sync protocols enable smoother, tear-free images for gaming and jitter-free video playback. Adaptive-Sync protocols enable lower power and greater efficiency in displaying content rendered at a wide range of frame rates.

VESA’s Adaptive-Sync technology has seen widespread adoption across the display industry and is now supported by all major GPU chipset vendors. But there’s never been a way to make sure that your machine meets VESA standards for performance and quality. Until now.

50 Testing Criteria

To earn AdaptiveSync certification, PCs and laptop monitors must pass a comprehensive and rigorous set of more than 50 test criteria, tested according to Adaptive-Sync Display CTS methodology. These include refresh rate, flicker, gray-to-gray response time, video frame drop, and video frame rate jitter.

Only devices that meet strict performance mandates for PC monitors and laptops supporting VESA’s Adaptive-Sync protocols can display the AdaptiveSync Display and MediaSync Display logos.

VESA Member Partners

VESA’s AdaptiveSync Display CTS and logo programs were established with the contributions of more than two dozen VESA member companies, including major OEMs that supply displays, graphic cards, CPUs, panels, display drivers and other components.
